Leading International Bank
In the middle of a major multi-year transformation, this international bank needed its senior leaders to guide their teams through uncertainty without losing performance or engagement. We started with executive coaching for two Executive Committee members, sponsored by Learning & Development and Talent Development, and the results were strong enough that the program expanded across the leadership team.
Leading a bank through transformation
Structural and cultural change was underway across the bank, and senior leaders and managers were expected to guide their teams through it while maintaining business continuity. The bank recognized that the transformation's success depended as much on leadership resilience and decision-making as on strategy, and invested in executive coaching to support its leaders through the personal and professional challenges of leading large-scale change.
How we supported the bank
Coaching engagements typically ran for 6 to 8 sessions, each 90 minutes, held every one to two weeks.
Coaching was highly practical and solution-focused, built around the real leadership challenges each participant was facing. The engagement began with two Executive Committee members; following strong outcomes, they recommended the program to peers, which expanded it to roughly 5 senior managers and several leadership teams through both individual and team coaching.
Coaching was delivered in English and French.
How did we proceed?
Each coaching engagement centered on the specific challenges the participant brought to the session, with a strong emphasis on practical application. Team coaching sessions for selected leadership teams reinforced the individual coaching, strengthening collaboration as the organization moved through its transformation.
Benefits for the bank
Leaders came away more confident managing change, with practical tools they could apply to real workplace challenges immediately. They handled sustained pressure with greater resilience and made more effective decisions under it, and the internal recommendations that expanded the program reflect the strength of the outcomes.
